hi there,
Does anybody know how to hire one of the Sunset Peak cabins? Are they private or government owned? Any info appreciated! Thanks!
30 April 2007 at 2:33 am #8039I’ve read of the cabins being built by missionaries some time ago
Googled, found a little info on HK Trampers. Cabins still privately owned; but wasn’t info on how to hire them.

15 July 2009 at 3:11 pm #8404AnonymousI”ve stayed a night at the cabins u’ve mentioned.
they are privately owned, and very cheap to rent for a night.
THe owners are mostly non-local i believe.
Each cabin is owned by different people. When u hike up there, take note of the website and phone numbers painted on the walls of the cabins. Call those numbers and you will be in touch with the person who owns it.
I stayed at cabin 18 with freinds. ANd it was $100 a night.
I’ll try and see if i can get my fd to find the website and tel number we used. But if i can’t…just hike up and get the website and number off of hte walls.
hope that helps.

A few of them are run by a group of volunteers, including cabin 18
