today’s SCM Post has couple of articles on Sham Chung
One on fauna mentions recent discovery of two species of dragonfly. Also indicates a biodiversity study concluded there were 27 species of birds – which perhaps results from “unconfirmed reports” about biodiversity survey, or simply a very bad survey. When I surveyed Sham Chung birds, over six dates, I found 73 species in the area, with a further six species close by. (Includes some that are likely pretty rare there, like the Ferruginous Flycatcher [which is scarce in HK].)
